The Design Brief

Developers needed a firm with preservation expertise and design vision to honor the 1903 Roman Revival public bathhouse (last operating in Brooklyn 1956, closed 1960) while creating 9 modern condos.

The Design Narrative

Held two things in balance: the weight of history and lightness of modern living. Exterior: careful Roman Revival restoration (stone-carved tablets, illuminated facade elements). Interior: minimal palette with calm, restorative register drawn from the building’s original purpose.

The Solution

Nine detailed residences built around well-being. Custom brushed stainless-topped glass railings, step lighting, minimal palette throughout. Modern and traditional in quiet dialogue.
